The fourth volume in the Hispania Judaica series is dedicated to the history of the Jews in the Kingdom of Navarre in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. Based on documents from archives, the book relates various aspects of Jewish life in this Christian Kingdom. It describes the development of the most important communities, their economic activities and their work at the service of the Crown and the vicissitudes of some of the most important families. The book also contains valuable information on the rise and fall of the Jewish communities in medieval Navarre, covering their history from earliest times till their final expulsion; from the high position they enjoyed, to the deterioration and persecution that put an end to a fascinating chapter in the history of Iberian Jewry.
