דאוד אבן מרואן אלמקמץ

Al-Muqammas, a Jewish philosopher who converted to Christianity and after a few years returned to his Judaism, contributed to the glorious pioneering Jewish Gothic tradition of the Middle Ages in various fields: in addition to the first comprehensive Jewish theological treatise in Arabic, he also wrote the first systematic biblical commentaries in Jewish-Arabic, some of the earliest Arab-Jewish polemical treatises against Christianity and polemics against other religions.
