Registration

You do not need to use a user name and passwords in order to browse through this website. However, if you have registered with the website to make a purchase, browse through an online e-Book or for any other purpose, we will add your e-mail address to our e-mailing list, and you will receive updates from us regarding new books, sale offers and the like. You can remove yourselves from our mailing list at any time by clicking on a special link found at the bottom of each e-mail we send.

Product purchase

We ask for information on the website's purchase form. Here the users must give their contact information (such as name, postal address, telephone number, and e-mailing address) as well as financial information (such as credit card number and card expiration date). This information is necessary for debiting and order completion purposes. If we encounter difficulties in performing the order we will use the contact information in order to contact the user. This information will also be used for registration with our e-mailing list and will enable our customers to receive new title alerts, special discounts and promotions, etc.

Security

This website takes every precaution in order to protect information connected with our users. When users deliver information through the website, this information is protected both online and offline. When the system requests sensitive information from you (such as credit card number and ID number), this information is coded and protected by the most advanced encoding software in the industry, SSL, and according to the credit companies PCI standard. The information is forwarded directly to the credit companies using the transaction processing company Tranzila, without going through the Magnes Press website. When you are on a secured page, such as on our order form, the lock icon at the bottom of the browser's screen will appear locked, contrary to when you surf in an unsecured part of the website, when it is displayed open. While we use SSL encoding in order to protect personal information online, we also take all necessary precautions to protect such information offline. All the information referring to our users, and not just the sensitive information described above, is limited to our premises. Only employees whose job requires them to browse through the information in order to perform their duty (for instance, the accounting department or the customer service department) are permitted to view the identifiable personal information. Our employees are obligated to use personal password protected screen-savers when leaving their desks.

Upon returning to their desks they must retype their personal password in order to browse through the aforesaid information. Moreover, all our employees are regularly updated regarding the privacy protection policies taken by us and their importance. Finally, the servers on which the personal identifiable information is stored are kept in a secure and locked environment.
