This volume is somewhat innovative in that, while, covering one subject, it draws upon different and diversified cultural areas. Four papers are devoted to Israel Muslims and others examine the problems of reciprocity in marriage among Jewish and non-Jewish residents of Muslim countries. In addition, these articles which deal with previously unexamined topics such as the story motif of the hero doomed to die on his wedding day and the motif of marriage between man and monster. Papers are also presented on ethnomusicology and sociology.
