This book presents prophecy as the existential
identity of the Jewish people. The three components of prophecy cannot be separated:
the biblical dialog between god and man; the dialog of time that
bestowed history to the Jewish people, a history that transcends existence (as
part of the covenant); the social dialog that holds at its core the meaning of Torah.
Prophecy is also exposed as a human experience and
encompasses enslavement, obstacles and mediation among other things.
Andre Neher sharpens the character and
contribution of the great prophets: from Abraham and Moses to Amos, Isaiah,
Jeremiah, Hosea, and Ezekiel.
