The Educational Method of Hashomer-Hatzair Youth Movement

The emergence of the Hashomer Hatzair (The Young Guard) movement in Jewish history was more of a sudden occurrence than a gradual process. It is as if the Eastern European Jewish youth was waiting for this movement and rushed to belong to it once it appeared. 

The educational system of Hashomer Hatzair was born as soon as the movement appeared .Its formation was quick, and after a short time the principles and methods were finalized. This educational system was immediately applied in all the countries where Hashomer Hatzair was established until they were abruptly stopped by the Holocaust.

This educational system was a prototype adopted by a few other Zionist youth movements and some of the principles even trickled into Jewish schools, in the diaspora at first and then in Israel.
