Yosef Salmon is professor of Jewish Modern histry at Ben-Gurion university, Beer-Sheva, Israel. He is Solly Yellin chair for the history of Lithuanian and Eastern European Jewry. His main publications are in field of the 19th and begining of 20th century Jews in those lands and Palestine. He published several books, among them Shivat-Zion(1998), Religion and Zionism(2002), Do Not Provoke Providence; Orthodoxy in the Grip Of Nationalism(2006).
