Mithabrim: Syntax for Higher Levels is a practice, comprehension and expression booklet on syntax topics. The booklet is intended for advanced students according to the curriculum of the Hebrew Teaching Unit at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The booklet has two purposes. The first of which is the acquisition and practice of syntactic components and structures at the advanced levels. The topics are practiced in several ways: open exercises, closed exercises, conversions, rewrites. Some of the grammatical topics are preceded by a short grammatical explanation for that section, and at the end of the booklet there are tables related to the syntactic topics as well as solutions to the closed exercises. The second goal of Mithabrim is to cultivate students' comprehension and expression skills with the help of reading passages (essays, articles, etc.). The reading sections, which incorporate the new syntactic topic, deal with different and diverse contents. This is the infrastructure for the activity of reading comprehension and the activity of oral or written expression. For each section, both comprehension questions that relate to the content of the section and expression questions that encourage discussion and conversation on the topic have been added.

This booklet is a test booklet that accompanies the book Hebrew from Scratch Part 2 . The booklet follows the 16 chapters of the book and includes 9 exams following the chapters. The booklet is intended for students studying from the book Hebrew from Scratch Part 2 who wish to test themselves independently at the end of each chapter to assess their level of knowledge and their abilities. Students can also use the solutions at the end of the booklet. The exams refer to all aspects studied in the chapter: reading comprehension, writing following a text, repeating vocabulary, and grammatical knowledge. At the end of the booklet are solutions for the tests. The solutions are for the grammar sections, but not for the comprehension sections. The linguistic instructions are translated into English to make it easier for the students, and in addition, examples are given to solve the exercises. Each exam includes a section with questions followed by a writing section. In addition, each exam includes grammatical materials: a verb or syntax studied or emphasized in the chapter. Some of the exams are also accompanied by vocabulary exercises based on the studied chapter or on previous chapters.

This is an exam booklet for beginners, which accompanies the textbook Hebrew from Scratch Part I . The booklet follows the 28 chapters of the textbook, and contains 29 exams that correspond with the chapters. It is intended for students who wish to test themselves independently at the end of each chapter in order to assess their level of knowledge and capabilities. The booklet could also benefit teachers as an exam bank.

A workbook accompanying Hebrew from Scratch Part 2 . Intended for both teachers as supplementary material for classroom use, and for students to practice at home. The workbook is divided into chapters according to the subjects of the book, dealing with linguistic issues and vocabulary, as well as verbal and written practice. In addition, it contains texts for practicing reading comprehension, also divided by the book subjects. Exercise answers are to be found at the end.

This a new edition includes answers to all the exercises. This book of exercises is designed for advanced students studying for their proficiency test in Hebrew according to the curriculum at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. In section 1 you will find exercises that combine syntax and verb conjugations. The goal of these exercises is to combine all that was learned in previous levels, with the addition of new and different topics and vocabulary that is learned at the highest level. At this level of learning, the focus is integrating previously learned topics in the context of articles and texts (adapted from newspapers and journals), rather than on, reviewing previously learned topics in isolation, as is done in lower levels. In section 2, you will find exercises organized according to topic. In this section, we guide students in a systematic deeper concentration of the grammatical topics (complicated syntax and highly irregular verbs) that are most challenging for most students and require further practice. In section 3 we introduce "unseens", articles or texts with missing words for students to add; the primary objective of these exercises is to for students to hone their ability to understand the larger context of the text, rather than to focus on vocabulary or grammar per se. These exercises invite an integration of all that the student has previously learned, both actively and passively: everything from vocabulary to grammatical technicalities. All exercises in the book are adapted from newspaper articles and texts on a wide variety of diverse and current topics – from the arts to history and technology - carefully selected to engage the advanced learner and acclimate them to the Modern Hebrew writing style. The book includes answers to all the exercises (including suggested answers to the unseen passages), making it ideal for self-study as well as classroom use.

Teachers who use the textbook Hebrew from Scratch part 1 , have long felt a need for additional exercises and assignments to provide students with more practice opportunities . Previously, their only options were to either create new supplemental exercises, or adapt existing ones from other beginner textbooks. Now comes to their aid ‘Me-Po le-Sham’ (“From Here to There”), a companion text to volume 1 of Hebrew from Scratch that follows the textbook chapter by chapter, providing a variety of exercises intended to enrich and reinforce the vocabulary and grammar topics that are introduced in each chapter. Exercise formats range from verb review drills, to completion and selection sentence level tasks, to cloze sections with accompanying word banks to open-ended functional writing tasks. The practice materials in Me-Po le-Sham have been tried and tested in the classroom over the course of many years, and have been proven effective in developing greater fluency and accuracy in written and oral language. The plentiful and easily adaptable exercises can be used for individual work outside of the class (homework) or, for individual or small group practice in class (where the “flipped classroom” model is applied). Book Dalet is intended for the intermediate-advanced level in the Division of Hebrew language instruction program of the Hebrew university in Jerusalem. There are 40 text segments in the book dealing with a variety of subjects: economics, Judaism, medicine psychology, funny stories and expression exercises as well.

The book deals mostly with grammer while introducing the student to subjects such as society, culture and leisure in Israel, economics, law and crime, science, art, literature and more.
