Prof. Oded Yisraeli, a faculty member in the Department for Jewish Thought, at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev. His major research fields are Medieval Kabbalah, particularly in its Hermeneutic and Midrashic contexts, the emergence of the Kabbalah in the middle ages, and its place in medieval Jewish culture. His previous books are The Interpretation of Secrets and the Secrets of interpretation (Cherub Press, 2005); Temple Portals: Studies in Aggadah and Midrash in the Zohar (De Gruyter & Magnes, 2016).
