The late Prof. Shlomo Morag, winner of the Israel Prize for the study of the Hebrew language and its traditions (1964), was one of the pillars of research and education in the Department of Hebrew Language at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem for four decades (1958-1998). Professor Morag was a revered teacher and his lectures cast a spell on his students.
