Adam Teller was born in London in 1962 and holds an M.A. from Oxford
University in England. He received his Ph.D. from the Hebrew Unversity in
Jerusalem. He has won a number of prizes for his research, including an
Ephraim Urbach Fellowship in 1997. In the 2002/3 academic year, Dr. Teller
was a fellow of the Center for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of
Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He he has publshed a number of studies on
the social, economic, and cultural history of Polish-Lithuanian Jewry in
the early modern period and is currently on the faculty of the Dept. of
Jewish History at the University of Haifa in Israel.
