Gila Freedman Cohen is a senior instructor of Hebrew as a second language at the International School of the Hebrew University. She also taught Biblical Hebrew and Bible for many years at Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem. A native English speaker, she did undergraduate and graduate work in Judaic Studies and Modern Hebrew literature at Brandeis University, where she also taught Modern Hebrew. She holds an M.A. in Hebrew Language from the Hebrew University. She directed the Hebrew studies of the Undergraduate and Graduate programs at Hebrew University`s International School and has been involved in Hebrew teacher training for many years. She co-authored both ``Hebrew in Focus: Photographs for Teaching Hebrew`` (with teacher`s guide) and a variety of courseware for teaching reading comprehension, morphology and vocabulary acquisition.
